About
The Archaeology and aNcient stuDies Laboratory – ANDlab is an interdisciplinary research and educational unit of the Department of History and Archaeology at the University of Patras. It brings archaeology, ancient history, classical philology, cultural heritage, and digital approaches into dialogue in the study of the past.

The Archaeology and aNcient stuDies Laboratory has operated within the Department of History and Archaeology of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Patras since 2025. Its establishment and operation form part of the strategic planning of the Department and the University to develop research and laboratory infrastructure, strengthen interdisciplinary research, and connect teaching with contemporary research practices.

The Department of History – Archaeology encompasses the academic fields of history, archaeology, and art history, approaching the past through historical sources, archaeological evidence, and interdisciplinary methods. Its teaching and research cover a broad chronological and thematic range and engage with contemporary methods of historical and archaeological research.
School of Humanities and Social Sciences
The School brings together academic fields across the humanities and social sciences, ranging from history, archaeology, and philology to philosophy, theatre studies, and education. Through teaching, research, and international collaboration, it advances the study of culture, language, and society and strengthens the University’s engagement with the wider community.
